The expectation to be "A Good Survivor"
2019
archival inkjet pigment print
This work is dedicated to sharing stories that give witness to the strength behind survivors of sexual abuse, assault, partner violence and trauma. The images center on the private lives of survivors who have rebuilt their lives, putting faces on a global issue.
"In the throes of healing that is where the real work is done. We break open time to time again to learn the things we thought we healed from still need nurturing" - Alexandra Elle
My approach is a collaborative one. I am interested in what healing looks like for each individual and aim to be sensitive to each image created. If you are a survivor, family member of a survivor please feel free to e-mail me with any questions about the project guidelines and consider being a part of this important work. I am also available to photograph family and partner portraits.
